more about me

World travelin’, sustainability guru, humanitarian, foster and adoptive mommin’, photographer, photobooth-er, educator, multiple hat wearing entrepreneur. This girl’s love language is hugs and her tank is filled by serving others. You can find her under a palm tree, on a mountain, renovating a vintage trailer/house or running through the sprinklers with her husband, two boys and three fur babies.

So it’s about time I know. I have been asked multiple times to put these up and here they finally are.
What is Camp Moja 2009? It is an incredible week spent at Camp Doniphan in Excelsior Springs, Missouri for people with special needs. Camp Moja was one of the most amazing experiences I have been a part of. It blinded me from visual appearance and helped me see the beauty inside of everyone. This camp strengthened my patience, my perspective on what’s important in life, and taught me how to love and smile in ways I didn’t know I could. I truly had a blast and have already marked it in my calendar for next year.

If you would like to learn more about Camp Moja or even volunteer your time next summer.. visit their website here.

This was the first time in a long time that I busted out my little FinePixS5100 and it felt great to just snap away and be worry free for the week.

Our massive group of volunteer campers of all ages. Don’t let this innocent picture deceive you, we are all crazy.

We were all a part of different teams. Each day a team was assigned to serve the food and take care of cleaning up the dining area. Yellow team-woot.

Reminiscing our colorful childhood at the motions class. I love the parachute games. But this one was above and beyond the most unique I’ve seen. Check out the picture below it.

“Tristyn, Tristyn, Tristyn!”

A BIG warm and fuzzy thank you to our sponsors at Rockwood Golf Course in Independence, Missouri.

The ladies and the good lookin’ life gaurd gettin’ jiggy.

Yum..we love our fruits and veggies.

This is Laremy, the magic man. Don’t underestimate this guy.. he blew us away. If you need him to spice up your events, contact him at schulze.entertainment@gmail.com.

Mr. MOJA the fireman brought his team and ::giggles:: we were so excited to ride. I think I was more excited than most. I haven’t played the dalmatian role since I was in 5th grade.

::::OUCH:::::
This picture is priceless. JD was the life of the party. And Justin and I ran into him at the pool the day we came home from camp. This is one great guy you will want to get to know. So go ahead and sign up to volunteer.. It’s free.

And all the ladies said.. “aww”

This was one of my many girls.. Sweet sweet lady who got a freakin cool balloon hat that I was super jealous of.

FRANK & ME. He is without a doubt, a ladies man.

The beautiful DeeDee and her super counselor Rachel.

All the way from Hollywood… the big blue blob from Monsters vs. Aliens.

My campers and the crush of the week.. Mr. Justin.
“Black team, what, what!”

This lovely lady got me signed up for this camp. Thanks so much for such a good time Ashley.

This has got to be one of my favorites.

Free time on the lake.

This photo is powerful. DeeDee has never got to ride in the canoe at camp.. and this year we thought we’d make it happen.

Olympic night and the three legged race.

Black Teams rockin head counselor. This picture says it all. You’re the stuff Tristyn.

The week begins. Me and my co-counselor meeting our first camper who was probably the most kind, organized, sweet lady you will ever meet. Who needs an alarm clock when you have her to wake you up when the sun comes up. Bed made, dressed and teeth brushed.. she beat us in the waking up process just about every morning. Being the non-morning person that I am, she definitely brought sunshine to my morning.
